"Kauwila captures the spirit of Hawai'i in his recordings. Smooth and relaxing, Kauwila's music rests your mind and heart and takes you on a gentle journey through the tropical vibrations of the islands.

"Kauwila possesses a powerful voice, a command of Hawaiian vocals, and his soothing slack-key style flows perfectly with the lyrics of Hawaiian music."

"Your blending of birds, nature, pan and guitar is so soothing."......."Beautiful!"

"As God revealed things to me, your music played in the background. It was soothing so that this huge awakening came easily...God held me in his arms and your music with its birdies, guitar, and flute soothed my overshocked soul..."

"MANU, Na Manu o Kilauea (Birds of Kilauea), A Meditative Journey with Pele's Birds at Kilauea". This CD brings the Spirit of Pele into your life. Recorded at the edge of Kilauea caldera in Volcanoes National Park, and incorporating the harmonies of slack key guitar, the pan flute, and the birds (Manu) of Kilauea, this gentle music brings peace to the hurried mind and soothes the soul.

Play at bedtime for a restful sleep, to promote inner peace, during massage, while driving, while kissing, in your home or office, and as you follow your passions. Remember, the birds and nature are the stars of this CD. And when you hear a rushing in the background, it is the wind blowing through the tops of the trees. Peace.

"The day was May 10, 2009, the mid-point of the Wesak (Buddha) Full Moon festival, as well as Mother's Day. I was in Volcanoes National Park, in a dry forest area, far from the roads, near the edge of Kilauea, when I heard this wonderful chorus of birds, chirping and singing. The wind was rustling gently through the tops of the trees...such a peace came over me. I had brought my recording equipment, so I decided to capture the birds' beautiful songs, so all could enjoy their music.

"How perfect that this was also Mother's Day. Pele is my mother, along with Gaia (Mother Earth). These songs are dedicated to their Spirits, and to the Spirits of my mother, Laura, for nurturing and encouraging my artistic side, and my grandmother, Marie, who loved the birds. This is also for the Stars and all of her Citizens." Kauwila
